Hi Guys,

Just would like get your opinions, in a control plan, under process name / operation, how to identify inspection, for an example final inspectio. Is it ok , if we final inspection under process name/operation column. For me it seems wrong, because inspection is not a process.

For incoming inspection, we can identify as material receiving process, how about final inspection?

Thank you

There should be no problem for both your control plan and process flow to have final inspection as a process step. An inspection step has inputs (parts), activity (measurement), controls and outputs (verified parts or lots) - so it can be a process.

Some people do not to add washes to their control plans because it does not transform the part, but that is also not a good idea. The controls for a wash - including measurement and maintenance of the soap or solvent - can affect the quality of the part. It should be in the process flow and control plan. It may have process rather than product controls.

You can include final inspection as an operation before dispatch.

Re: Control plan : How to include final inspection

If iyou use material receiving process as your incoming inpection
Then you can use finish good packing / assembly process as your final inspection.

Material arrived > put at incoming area > incoming inspection
Finish good > put at finish good area > final inspection
