Sir,

Our company is in the process of getting AS9100 certification. As per AS9100 Rev B, clause 7.6,CONTROLLING AND MONITORING OF MEASURING DEVICES ,
The organization shall maintain a register of these monitoring and measuring devices, and define the process employed for their calibration including details of equipment type, unique identification, location, frequency of checks, check method and acceptance criteria.

But we don't know what is meant by equipment type?
Is equipment name is same as equipment type?

How to get the acceptance criteria for all the equipments/instruments? for e.g: clinometer, spirit level, surface table/surface plate etc.

How to prepare the calibration certificate for our instruments? Is there any website available which will guide us in this?

Can I add to the question? Further into 7.6 it says, "When used in the M & M of specified requirements, the ability of computer software.... shall be confirmed....." The associate using the CMM makes changes to the programs (part specific) and no one confirms these changes? As an internal auditor I feel it is a finding. The associate is not making changes to the actual software but "writing routines" for the CMM to do it's thing. Is this a finding In your opinion? Also, The Cert says right on it that the engineer that calibrated said CMM used his own computer to do so, Does this leave us with another finding that the calibration/software is not verified/validated?

Ramesh, the easiest way to get the answers on ways to document and track equipment, since you mention you need the calibration, is to have a NABL-accredited calibration lab come in and help you.

There should be a number of labs in Bangalore.

Here is a place to find labs: http://www.nabl-india.org/
