CQI-9 and DI Water vs. Distilled Water

Regarding Process Table D (Induction Heat Treating) Item #D1.3 where it states to verify the refractometers with distilled water. Our process uses deionized water. I always thought the DI water was purer than distilled, but if I stick to the book does this mean we are not compliant?
