Re: Creative ways to access Expert Information when you can't afford a top $ Consulta
Expert information and consulting are different.
There are several expert information channels that can be accessed and assessed for use by the organization or person without $$ expenditure.
Consulting involves doing the work for the organization by own expert information or accessed expert information, processing it for the organization requirements and providing tangible outputs that are beneficial to the organization in time. Consulting business needs resources apart from own expert knowledge, that will be able to service the customer / client with defined deliverables. This is what the industry needs from consultants IMHO .....
That's correct. They ARE different. Sometimes, though, it takes the expert to winnow through all the "expert" information to find that which is really pertinent for a particular situation.
Note the remarks over the years here in the Cove and see if there isn't a DIFFERENCE between
- those folks who are self-described "experts" who say, "It worked for me." without really tying the personal experience to the Cove poster's situation and
- those folks who write "There are other factors to be considered. Could we have more details, please?"
In one case, a solution which worked one time is thrown out as a panacea for all [or most] situations, while, in the other, the writer is attempting to drill down to the specific situation (similar to what a real consultant does on an assignment.)
