Criteria for Selecting a Consultant or Consulting Firm

I’m sorry that I cannot find any forum about consulting. So, I choose this forum.
Anyone can advise about criteria to select the appropriate consulting firm for our ISO implementation. In my imagine there should be
1. Experience to implement in similar industry
2. Site reference
3. Profile of team
4. Training course provide
5. Of course, cost (might be optimum)

ILO has guidelines on how to choose a consultant. I believe ISO 9000 has also come up with guidelines how to choose a consultant. Organisations like ICMCI have also their guidelines.

The points covered are as follows:

1. Learn about consulting and consultants
2. Define your problem and look for opportunities
3. Define your purpose
4. Choose the right consultant
5. Develop a joint program
6. Cooperate actively with your consultant
7. Involve consultant in implementation
8. Monitor progress
9. Evaluate results and the consultants
10. Beware of dependence on consultants

These are broad guidelines.
