Just wondering if you folks like the 'Current Discussions' listing on the forum home page.

Sorry, but it does not serve any useful purpose IMHO...One thing I noticed is that it doesn't take you to the 'last post' in the thread. I'm too much used to the posts 'Since Last Visit'.
I would suggest you even move the stats/b'days/events stuff to the bottom of the page and bring the 'matter' near the top.
MHO, of course.

Marc,

I never use it, I go to the "last 24 hour" tab as general rule. It seems to "compact" for these old eyes.:)

Al...

I sorta figured most people who come here regularly would use last 24 Hours - I do like you guys do. I can make it go to the 'latest post' but saw it as more a thing for newer people. And search engines.

I usually use the "Since last visit" option

You could have a point there... The old sweats know their way around the site and will keep using the other methods, but if I try to look at things with the eyes of a newbie.... there may be a point in keeping it. I'm not sure, though. It takes up quite a bit of screen space.

Anyway, keep experimenting. :agree1:

I think it ('Current Discussions') is excellent for first time and casual visitors. Hard-core Covers hardly notice "bells and whistles" except when they turn up "missing."

This is similar to many oft-visited websites - often changes are so incremental, the regulars rarely notice them.

I haven't mentioned it before, but I do like the fact you are using less "real estate" at the top of the page. The navigation does seem cleaner to me.

Yeah. I only use the home page myself to see who's online and then do the Last 24 Hours. I really intend the listing for new people, for the most part, and, as I mentioned, for search engines. I don't see it as a real estate issue as I rarely scroll the main page - maybe once a day to see what forums are active and which are not - and I bet that's the same for most frequent visitors. And when I do scan the main forum page it's so long that the little bit at the top isn't that much space comparatively.
