Customer Audit - Just a positive rant really

We have been audited by an international oil and gas client in the last two days. I have been critical of the this company in the past but on this occasion it was a pleasure indeed to be audited by someone who skilled, professional, pleasant and mot importantly 'New School'.

This young woman made it obvious from the outset that she was here to help us to improve our safety management system by focusing on opportunities to improve our safety management system not to cane us for things that have not been done right.

She had everyone on side and everyone was open and honest with her as she with us.

We will get a fairly long list of Opportunities For Improvements which we will review and make decisions on, but we are unlikely to get any NCs, not that I am suggesting that is the definition of a good auditor either.

While I have been in OH&S for 20 years myself it was good to meet someone from whom I have learned some things.

The only negative was that an old bloke like me cant write, listen, remember and learn at a 100 miles an hour.

If only all customer audits were like this one:applause:.
