Customer E audit preparation

Hi All,

We will have a customer E audit for the first time by using the Microsoft Team. Basically we installed the Microsoft Team on laptop and smartphone on this in purpose.
There should not a big issue during the audit on the documentation which we can share through the Microsoft Team.

However, if we need to go to the plant for process audit, our initial plan is to use the smart phone via Microsoft Team to conduct this audit with customer, but trial run results showed us the video/audio performance will depend on the WIFI strength.

If you have experience of the E audit, please help to share on the method and potential problem that we can face.
Need to benchmark others to improve on this. Thanks.

Hi, we are doing the same, virtual audits. This is my experience

I have done "site tours" using Apple Facetime and Skype, neither is ideal, but the best that is available on the particular site. Trying to read documents or serial numbers is almost impossible, but you can get an idea of the overall site quality. Try to get the camera holder to stay still, not moving all the time. Its better than nothing, but only just :)

Currently, MS Teams does seem best for reviewing documentation as you can take control of the auditees file. If it is very slow, try different setting the call from the other end. This sometimes works. We also use Box for the auditees to put files into so they can be read them off-line.

Allow plenty of time and split the audit over a number of days, ie split a 1-day audit over 2 four hour afternoons. Make sure there are breaks in each session.

Ill be interested to hear others experience and recommendations as well.

See 19011:2018 A.16 Auditing virtual activities and locations. It gives a list of bullet points that are kind of a checklist for a remote audit.

If you are doing screen-sharing, make sure that screen resolutions on both sides are comparable - we've had an issue where the remote auditor struggled to read the documents we were sharing due to our large high-res monitors and his low-res. smaller monitor (notebook).

Using a smartphone camera app to stream video (e.g., during a virtual walkthru) can burn battery time pretty quick, so make sure a charger is readily available.
