Dear friends,

Does any ones of you heard about a Guide to define control methods according of gravity (related to level of process assurance)?
This guide could be developed internally, but I need an example. Please some imputes regarding the principles of this kind of guide.
This is a Customer requirement (not at all detailed), but may be some of you are using this rule.
Thank you very much.
God bless you.

Are you a supplier for U.S. automotive industry? In automotive we usually use APQP to develop control plans based on criticality levels.

No, I am not a supplier for US automotive, but I am working with APQP.
To be more precise what the customer want is a kind of type actions and controls regarding severity issues.
For instance what type of actions and control should I apply for severity 10 ? But for severity 9? But for 8? And so on.
Probably this severity should be correlated with occurrence and obtain a matrix.
Based on that matrix what type of actions and controls are required in control plan
Thank you very much.

Re: Customer requirement regarding to create a Guide to define Control Methods

Dear all
I have attached a possible document for fulfilling this requirement.
I need yours advice, suggestions, critics.
This document has been inspired from a customer working philosophy with some differences:
• I placed different type of actions depending on colour from matrix and severity
• The customer have the same actions for all severities if there are red or yellow or green not depending at all by severity only by matrix colours.

In which ways could be useful this document?
What kind of corrective actions should be applied related to every colour?
Thank you very much.

PS. The Reaction Plan and the Matrix it'still on working.

The information is too little. To define control method, you shall use Statitiscal process control (SPC) to set your upper and lower limit. Dont your company have any six sigma member?

SPC is a control method, not a way of defining a control method. There are many successful companies that have devised efficacious control methods without having any SS "members."

Lucian,

Like your idea. I will work on this for a bit see what i can come up with.
Based on the severity and the occurance determine what the detection control method should be or based on the severity and detection determine what the manufacturing control method should be.

See atached our PFMEA standard. i will use this to dertermine what control methods should be used for each Sev. Occ and Det. possibility.
