Customer Specific Requirements / Distributors (IATF 16949)

Hello All! I haven't posted here in a while but we're preparing for our ITAF 16949 certification and I have a question regarding customer specific requirements or CSRs and how they relate to distributors.

We have a dozen or more direct automotive customers but we also sell quite a few products through distributors who then sell the parts to automotive customers.

Based on the most recent IATF FAQs, we are only expected to request CSRs from direct customers. Are distributors considered direct customers? Does anyone have experience requesting CSRs from distributors? Will they just flow down the CSRs from their customers?

CSRs are specified (at least by reference) in the purchase contract by the customer(s). If there are no specific requirements in the contract, you don't have to worry about it.
