Re: Policy author and owner
I have heard that before at other companies, that one person can't be the author, process owner, and approver of a document. I'm the Quality Manager and Management Rep. of a small division of a public corp. and completely re-writing my company's procedure for "Control of Documents". I frankly don't think anyone else is really qualified to review and approve it since most are woefully ignorant of the over-arching requirements of ISO 9001 clause 4.2.3. What is the specific reason(s) that people state this? Is it the implied interdependence thing or something else in ISO 9001?
The Approver can also be a Reviewer but the Author cannot be the Reviewer and Approver of document he/she wrote.
