Defining Yield Rate Targets for different Manufacturing Processes

Hi all,

This is my first post here. I have been avid user of this forum for a long time. I have found lots of useful information from this forum and very grateful for that.

Currently I am working on a new quality plan and I have been asked to define the yield rate targets for different manufacturing processes. Product is a system that comprises of many complex sub assemblies. Assembly processes is manual and no historic data is available for the assembly process (brand new product). I am not sure how to come up with expected yield rates. Any guidance or tips is greatly appreciated.

Your acceptable yeild-rate should be determined through process development and optimisation studies.

Its about knowing your process and what you can achive and setting an appropriate limit for loss based on the output of your optimised process.

If you have no current data for yeild, you can start conducting the study (gathering yeild info) now, during processing, and determine acceptable limits for loss going forward.

There is no specific regulatory requirement (%). It is down to you!
