Delphi CSR (Customer Specific Requirements) and LPA Requirements

[PREFACE - I did try enter this thread in the TS Forum, but was not getting any feedback.]

Just wanting confirmation from fellow covers who have Delphi as an automotive customer. It appears to me as I read the November 30, 2007 CSR that LPAs are no longer a requirement. Do you agree?

Did you also catch that the CSR changed from November 15, 2007 to November 30, 2007 without there being a change added to the Change Log?

I have not followed so closely the Delphi CSR but I do not remember there ever being a requirement for Layered Process Audits.
When did they request it?
As far as I can see the change log only refers to 11/1/07.

Doug - Good catch, can't find the layered audit requirement anywhere. Maybe somebody finally realized there wasn't much value added.

Now what are you planning to do? Are you direct to Chrysler, which requires LPAs?

If a company is direct to Delphi but not direct to Chrysler, then LPAs would no longer be required - correct?

We're just keep on - keeping on. Other customers require LPAs; e.g. Chrysler, GM, ACH so we will perform them as usual.

I'm questioning the Delphi CSR though; in the old CSR, they were listed individually in the APQP 7.1 section. There is a link in 7.1 "frequently used documents" but when clicked does not show any documents. I'm wondering if they don't have a problem with the link to Covisint and we can't see them.

Customer Specific Requirements would only apply to activities performed specific to that customers.

Chrysler LPAs would apply to Chrysler parts you make, not necessarily all parts you produce.

If a plant has only have one customer who requires LPA, all the processes are audited no matter what is running on the production floor. You might think this is overkill but audit results show "issues avoided" are worth more than the 30 minutes it takes to perform the audit.

Whoa, I just re read and saw the word "necessarily"

So it is unnecessary for me to rant about companies who take the weasal way and only do the mimimum the customer asks.

If LPA makes business sense do it across the board, if LPA does not make business sense don't it at all. Come on leaders - lead!

Has anything bad happened to anyone with an LPA requirement if you didn't comply?

There must be lots more companies than just us who don't do them. And we ship every day.
