How are you deploying customer specific requirements in your company. Is it added in your quality manual?

Our system is online. We maintain a place on our intranet for customer specific requirements - all instructions/requirements that fall outside the scope of our normal operation are placed here.

Customer specifics

If you look in the customer specific (scopes) of either Ford, Daimler-Chrysler or General Motors the customer specific requirements must be within your system just like any other requirement of the IS TS 16949.

So, if you deliver to either of them there is no escape than to treat the CSR as normal ISO TS requirements.

Antoine

All I did was cross reference the GM Customer specifics with the TS clauses in our Quality Manual, as below:

4.2.4.1 RECORDS RETENTION - SUPPLEMENTAL
The control of records satisfies regulatory and customer requirements.
Supporting Documentation
GM Customer Specifics ISO TS 16949 – 4.1.2 Records Retention
QDP:07 Quality Department Procedure
DC:001:06

I also keep a file of all down loaded GM Documents, such as key characteristics etc etc.

Dear friend !

This is certainly not a tough area to handle. What is needed is to prepare a format having columns in this order.....Customer...Specific Requirements...Clause (if Applicable)...Action taken....Document Ref...Pending action if any....Remarks.

Customer Specific Requirements are available either on net (customer websites) or Google for majors or we can directly from our customers.

Keep this information updated and produce this to Auditor during the certification or surveillance audits.

I hope this meets your requirement.
