What technique will be applicable to capture the defects?
To clarify the situation, you design structures (buildings), correct?
I bring this up because few of the folks who visit here are in the structual (building) design industry, so there may not be anyone here who can help with techniques specific to what you are designing (buildings).
Several folks pointed out the you need to be very specific about what the product is and other aspects specific to your situation to determine the techniques applicable to your specific 'product'. When doing a Design
FMEA the product is important because the design process for a 'widget', for example, will differ a lot from someone designing a building. For example, I have never been involved in structural design so I cannot tell you anything about techniques to identify potential design failures in a structural design process.
I don't mean to deter you from asking structural design related questions here, but bear in mind structural design is not a forte of many of the visitors here. I can say that a Design FMEA in the structural design process is something I have never seen.
