Design Organization Manual - Seeking Example

What is the meaning of "Design Organization Manual"?
Im looking for sample or example.

Some context would be good. Where did you see the terminology, and what was it related to?

We are an aerospace engineering services organisation. one of our customer asks for Organisation Design Manual.Is it realted to product that we design?
Any samples ??

Not being your customer, and having done only a small amount of work with aerospace suppliers I don't know for sure. I could see it as:

- a manual (e.g., set of procedures, forms, etc.) that spells out the processes used for developing and validating designs (and design changes), basically equivalent to section 7.3 in ISO 9001 (or AS 9100).

- a set of guidelines used for designing specific products (e.g., formulas to use, minimum &/or maximum limits of capability, test methods).

Best thing to do would be to ask your customer what they mean by it.

Good day!

We do have Engineering Process Captured via Engineering project plans and other related manuals.
But we are certainly planning to go for design organization approval with some of the OEMs whom we are related with.

I understand that we need to submit design organization manual for approval purposes. Would there be a possibility to have a look at a template of DOA manual as to help me to put together with the documents we have internally generated

I need help from you. I work with Goodrich Aerospace India. We are in process of Getting the Design Organzaition Approval for one of our product. The key seems to be Design Organization Manual. I just have big picture of it, thanks to the discussion on this forum. I would highly appreciate if anyone of you could get me a sample copy or at least the list of contents.

My guess is that what's meant is a controlled compilation of design-related policies and practices.

Have you asked your engineers how they learned your organization's work methods and documentation practices when they were hired, and what they use as a work-method reference when they're assigned a task that they haven't done before? Perhaps such a manual, or list of individual documents, already exists external to your QS.

My guess would be that if such policies and practices don't exist now, creating a document that purports to present such information as your organization's design practice would be less than fully factual.
