Determining the "storage volume" (ISO 8536-8:2004 clause 6.14)

Hi I'm new here, this is my first post. I have a question:

I have been analyzing a clause used in ISO 8536. Most specifically, I am trumped when it comes to determining the "storage volume" (8536-8:2004 clause 6.14). It informs the reader to determine the storage volume according to IEC 60601-2-24. However, when reading IEC 60601-2-24, I am unable to find any information relating to storage volume.

Is there anybody that has experience with this topic? Any and all information is appreciated :D
:thanx:

Hello and welcome to the Cove :bigwave:

Have you looked at IEC 60601-2-24 first edition?

Cheers,
Ronen.

I have the exact same problem and did not find any reference to this statement anywhere (and no - the IEC 60601-2-24 first edition does not mention it)

Will be happy to see if anyone has an answer

Thanks

I am wondering if the "Bolus Volume" (discrete quantity of liquid which is intended to be delivered) is somehow related? I interpret this volume as the acceptable volume before occlusion occurs.

It doesn't define the same parameter; then again, the "storage volume" is not clearly defined either.

Perhaps I am heading in completely the wrong direction, any opinions?

Would the 'storage volume' be the total available volume of the liquid?

and 'bolus volume' would be relevant for a pump such as a Patient Controlled Analgesia unit that do not infuse continuously.

There is a guide to Infusion Pump Testing available here:

It may be beneficial to post this thread on the IEC60601 board where some 'experts' lurk!
