Just wondering are there any other members out there who do DFMEAs on machinery, i.e. analyse during the design phase of the project. Am interested in networking and further developing best practices.
I have been working on DFMEAs for about 3 years covering major designs with 5000-10000 parts down to small fixtures with 50-100 parts. I'morking with an Automation company which builds bespoke machines for medical device, pharma & automotive & general manufacturing companies.
I have created a list of standard checks which I refer to during the process. I've divided the list up into specific areas including some of the following:
Adjustment/Changeover Parts/Part Loading
Assembly/Disassembly
Electrical
Environmental Considerations
Ergonomics
Grippers
Guarding
Loading of Product
Maintenance
Manufacturing
Nests
Operator Interaction with the Machine
Pneumatics
Product Related
Robots
Safety/Risk Assessment
