Different types of Actions? CARs, OFIs or N/A

I'm working on creating a central place for capturing issues, we then disposition all issues as corrections, CARs, OFIs or N/A. For all issues we can have actions associated with the issue, are we required to differentiate different action types? What I mean by that is say we disposition an issue as a CAR, and we have 3 actions associated with the corresponding issue is that sufficient or do we have to explicitly say these 3 actions are corrective actions.

Actions associated with corrective action requests are, by definition, corrective actions. You shouldn't need to explain further.

What you have to clarify, is the criteria for car and ofis and also if cars are full analysis (find root cause) or just corrections.

Corrections are or could be dealt with in the details of non-conforming outputs. I'm not sure about the categories of "OFI" and N/A being part of actions, however. Perhaps this is a layer of complexity which is a contributing part of your (stated) problem?

Thanks you answered my question - it sounds like no need to differentiate.

If helpful for clarity say we have issue #1 which is dispositioned as a correction and it has 1 actions associated with it, and issue #2 is dispositioned as a CAR, and there are 2 actions associated with it. We address root cause, and provide a decision tree to show guidelines for dispositioning issues, but my question was specifically are we violating ISO requirements as in the example above there are 3 actions, but it doesn't explicitly say which is a corrective action. You can infer that as the action is related to an issue and an issue has a disposition, so if the disposition for the issue is CAR then the actions must be corrective actions.

Sorry I'm probably overthinking it :)

OFIs are recommendations and they are not binding.

Not all nonconformities require corrective actions.

Nonconforming outputs (NCO) might require corrections but corrective actions for NCO is not a requirement of ISO 9001.
