This standard has a table for tolerances of straight line measurements and one for tolerances of radii. Which of these would apply to a diameter? Intuitively, one might think that the radius table applies since it is a curved surface like the diameter. However, throughout the std. you can see examples where diameters are dimensioned as straight line measurements, so this makes me think the straight line measurement table applies. A diameter can be measured with a ruler like other straight line measurements, whereas a radius cannot. Is this correct? Is it defined somewhere how to apply these types of standards to a diameter? This is important in resolving a 5 figure dispute with a vendor. Thanks.
