Disruptions that happen prior to surveillance audit

There is a time-worn adage: "Find the irreplaceable employees, and plan to get rid of them." This sounds bluntly cruel, especially as it refers to people, but it is not about disrespecting individuals. The meaning behind the adage is that business practices are supposed be in place such that the loss (temporary or otherwise) of an individual is NOT supposed to cause the business to go into a tailspin. The adage is also NOT about disrespecting TALENT. One of the uses of the adage is to explain the importance of being able to (re)distribute responsibilities and raising all employees to an appropriate level of talent.

To be certain: there are cruel versions of how this scenario has played out, but there are also more positive potential paths.
