Do we have to show full compliance to all customer specific requirements during the audit? Will the auditor (stage 1 and stage 2) not accept if we show that we are working on it?
Why I ask is because we have asked for some waivers from customer but it has not been received yet.And also in some cases we have asked them for guidance on implementation.

Yes, you need tocomply with the CSRs and show evidence of same. We got hit pretty hard on customer specific requirements and fortunately had addressed the shalls in them. If you customer did not respond to your requests for waivers, then you need to have documented evidence of your communications, such a copies of letters, e-mails, etc. I was told by the TS16949 Lead Auditor that is what is expected. Even if your customers do not respond, you are responsible to prove the communication.

Not only that, they're also responsible for the customer requirements if there's no waiver in evidence. Just showing evidence of having asked for a waiver isn't enough.

I agree with the comments by the previous posters. I will only add, that customer specific requirements have to be viewed as essentially the same as the TS standard. The TS standard AND customer specific requirements (see Rules). It is the same concept as QS had a section 1 and 2, and section 2 CSRs were just as much a requirement as section 1. The only thing is now customers post them on the internet because they tend to change a lot.
