Hello Quality Experts,
Can I get any samples or guidance to interlinking level 1 document with level 2 and level 3 (ie Quality Manual with Quality Procedure & Work Instruction and realted Forms.
In EN AS 9100 process is there is any standard numbering system should follow for procedures and Forms??
Thanks in Advance.
Hi Sasiengineer,
I've created systems with documents that are numbered in families, which I think is what you were implying by "interlinking level 1 and 2 documents".
My systems have 12 Procedures, so all the associated Work Instructions, Forms and Records or Reference Documents for each Procedure are readily identifiable and "interlinked" with their "parent procedure" by way of their numbering:
Here's my document hierarchy and sample numbering:
Level 1 - Policy Statement and Operating System Manual (no numbering necessary)
Level 2 - SOP's ..........................Ex: SOP-03 - Internal Audit Procedure
Level 3 - Work Inst's....................Ex: WI-03-01 - Internal Audit Planning Instruction
Level 4 - Forms ..........................Ex: F-03-01 - Internal Audit Plan Form
Level 5 - Records & References......Ex: Rec-03-01 - List of Qualified Internal Auditors (Controlled Record)
................................................Ex: Ref-03-01 ISO 9001 Standard (Controlled Reference Document)
................................................Ex: Ref-03-02 GM Customer Specific Requirements (Controlled Reference Document)
See Attachment "22" below.
As soon as I see a document Prefix followed by "03", I know it's related to the Internal Audit Procedure...etc.
Just another take on the subject...

P.S. - I've edited to add a couple of reference documents, fyi.
