Does a Quality Manual have to be in the format of ISO 9001:2000?

You're right of course. The resistance, if any, is generally in companies with systems that are not robust.

Sadly, I see this ambivalence more in large, tier 1 suppliers. It's almost as if they feel they have so much talent and importance they don't need it. Interesting that they are also the companies who can't seem to make it work in the automotive field.

I certainly see a correlation...but of course I am not as smart as they are...they eventually and slowly get it, however. Just have to work with them a little longer.
