Forum vs. Blog
I'm sorta about to challenge you. The blogs I see are opinion pages, and about every one is political. Don't get me wrong - I started this site with the same 'idea' (My Opinion Is ....) so I'm not complaining. I gave my 'opinions' frequently. E.g.: See
Word On The Street Is... A Kentucky Bumpkin's General Commentary from 1998.
Anyway - I admit - I'm interested as well.
I did check out Dennis Arter's blog - It's a standard blog. A set of entries and commentary. Best I can figure, he has abandoned his web site. It was always an advertisement haven, so I rarely visited. Anyway, his blog seems OK. There are a number of entries which were entered here, so it's sorta a daily diary of the blogger with 'news' items (such as the
Pastafarian Flying Spaghetti Monster vs. Science.
One thing I must say is that Dennis's old web site was an advertisement heaven. Yet - His curent blog (as of 30 Aug 2005 3:00 am EDT) has no advertisements.
Do remember - A blog is essentially a log of 'events' / opinions, typically a bloggers opinion and a mix of links to articles on other sites 'lifted' from other web sites or news services (yes - I {and many of us} do this, but it's not the 'base' of the forums).
A forum (such as the
Elsmar Cove ISO9000 and Quality Assurance / Business Systems Forums ) is not really a 'news' outlet and/or site owner opinion diary. A Forum is more of a situation where people ask questions, get answers and discuss situations.
A Blog is typically more of a 'Headline News' / combo / 'Opinion' site. A forum (such as here) is where people come for various extended topic discussions - Especially company specific scenarios.
I guess I sorta think blogs are over rated.

Folks who come here to the Elsmar Cove forums, for example, can discuss their situation in detail and folks like the moderators will try to help out on a personal level. In the Elsmar Cove you get more situation specific help vs. 'blog owner opinions'.
Oh well - I'm all ears. List and discuss your favourite non-political blogs!
