Does KPI for processes need to be corelated with the specific risks for processes?? If yes - and I think so - how to explain the correlation between them?

Not necessarily. Do you monitor gas mileage of your vehicle? It's an efficiency metric, not control. If you monitor whether or not occupants wear seatbelts that would be risk related (correlated to potential severity of injuries in case of accident).
