how do you interpret the point af the ISO/TS about product layout/product requalification?

In our company we re-qualify our product with a product audit each two years.

Does the ISO/TS clearly require an annual product re-validation?

Layout inspection requirements are spelled out in the applicable Customer Specific Requirements (CSR's).

Some OEMs have a specific specification as to what is to be measured and/or tested every year. As a previous poster quite rightly wrote 'check the CSRs'. Some of them have teeth and cost money!

Annual Layout inspection is conducted only if you have OEM customers that require it.

I've seen customers who wanted only a dimensional layout annually, and others that required a full Level 3 PPAP submission. If the customer requires annual PPAP (as opposed to just a layout) and uses the AIAG requirements, even a Level 2 PPAP requires all of the relevant elements to be completed, but only some to be submitted. It's important that the requirements are very clear and in writing.

Re: How to detail an annual product re-validation on the Control Plan?

I have been out of Automotive Industry for a few years, and recently was made aware of a CSR dealing with an Annual Re-qualification [Re-Validation] that states: "Annual Layout inspection requirements shall be detailed in the suppliers control plan." Would someone be so kind as to describe how this requirement would be detailed in the Control Plan? Is it a step in the Process Flow, and an Operation in the Control Plan that identifies the requirement; OR do you have to identify all the characteristics from the ISIR too? Just wondering?

I usually see a line item in the control plan (at the very end or in a final inspection step) that just says "Full Layout" with a frequency of once/year. Identifying each characteristic in the control plan would be extreme overkill in my view.
