Doing a PPAP using attribute ("go", "no-go") gages only?

Can anyone help me regarding the requirements for doing a PPAP using "go", "no-go" gages?

We have a part that the tolerances are so tight, many of the dimensions are not measurable with standard equipment (height gage, calipers, etc). Our customer has agreed that all parts are to be inspected using the no-go and go gages we created. We don't know how to do a PPAP using these gages.

Does anyone know how or could anyone point me to some reading material on the matter?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I would suggest that you discuss this with your customer.
Maybe for the PPAP you should find a CMM machine, I think that there should be an actual layout before you start for your benifit if nothing else.

Hello MurphTN,

The PPAP submission requirements are determined by your Customer.
It may be helpful to approach your customer's approval authority to find out what exactly they need from you. I assume (correct me if I am wrong) that the PPAP submission would include attribute gage studies on the gages you will use. By the way, get all this customer/supplier conversation in writing and keep very good records. I'm sure you already know this. Let us know how all this works out.

In case of stamping and casting parts without machining, you may forget CMM.
So in my opinion you should submit:
1. Dimensional report with "OK", "NG" check results for PPAP samples,
2. Gauge drawing with related to part gauge dimensions, e.g. distances between pins (104,30 +/-0,05), planes
3. Report for gauge dimensional report, showing real data, e.g. distance between pins (104,298)
4. MSA report for gauge used.
