Compliance and Regulatory Rx Distributor
Hi all,
I work for a wholesale distributor of health and wellness products. One of the services we provide is drop shipping Rx medical devices (usually catheters) directly to patients for orders placed by licensed DME suppliers. If a DME supply company places the order (they have the Rx from the physician) and they send us the item number and shipping information to fulfill shipment of the order, what type of "license verification" can we do? Are we required to?
In our standard model, if we sent said item to a Doctor's office, we would simply verify his license and place it on file. Our system would then verify the license type and expiration date on all future orders. But in the drop ship situation - the customer is not licensed, so the standard model doesn't work.
There seems to be an answer based on terms and conditions, specifically F.O.B. verbiage as to where title lies at the time of shipment?
Does anyone have experience with this?
