quality manual and procedures

Hello!
I have to write the quality manual for an electronics/telecommunication manufacturing company. Does anyone have something similar to use as a guide? I'm new at this and I really don't know where to start from. Do you know any good tools for the drawing of the procedures' flowcharts?

Thanks!!

Hi Natasa,
Welcome to the Cove. There have been many topics on these two subjects and may I suggest that you performa search for Quality Manuals and Flowcharts. You will be amazed at the amount of information you will find as there are many examples of flowcharts and Manuals within the confines of the cove.

I hope this helps.

I think you'll find that quality manuals tend to be relatively generic across the spectrum of different sectors not forgetting company specific aspects. In the case of ISO, many companies no longer have quality manuals per se.

Procedures, on the other hand, are more company specific. You might want to ask about a specific procedure example - such as Document Control or Corrective Action. Just remember to take them as examples. Your company will be different enough in many instances that taking a generic procedure and using it without modification will not be suitable.

I do suggest that you use flow charts as much as possible.

Welcome to the Cove, Natasa. There are many software programs out there specifically made for developing flowcharts, but without going to the expense of specialized software, flowcharts can be created in MSWord (or Excel) using the drawing toolbar.

Good luck in you endeavor. :bigwave:

DD is quite correct that MS Word or Excel has flowchart tools, which I have used for years, but if you have very many to do I find Visio to be much easier and more powerful for flowcharts. You can convert he Visio to a .pdf file and then post it for almost anyone to view.

I have used Amazing Flowcharts and Diagrams from Pacestar software. It has been a great program for just $20 USD.
