Hi,
I am considering the design of a generator with two RF outputs, switchable with a two pole changeover relay. I am concerned about the isolation requirement of the relay contacts. It is conceivable that an instrument may be present in the socket which is not enabled. The RF signal may be up to 340V RMS.
Looking at the standard I cannot work out whether the isolation requirement of the relay is 2 MOPP, 1 MOPP, or functional. A large creepage may require multiple contacts in series and much larger relay (which I am assuming is force guided for all cases).
In addition is the clearance of open relay contacts taken into consideration or this function of the relay rating?
Hope someone can clarify,
Many thanks
