We're not necessarily that talented. I used https://wordsmith.org/anagram/ and I know there are other similar sites. The website also has their "hall of fame", including
  • Dormitory = Dirty Room
  • Clint Eastwood = Old West Action
  • Mother-in-law = Woman Hitler
  • Eleven plus two = Twelve plus one
  • George Bush = He bugs Gore
Plus dozens more....

Boo! Hiss! That's like using a pencil with an eraser and having a dictionary close by when doing crosswords.

You broke my balloon! Here I was picturing a meeting of "Super Mensa," and you direct my attention to the "man behind the curtain.":(

If I wear my ruby slippers and click my heels three times, saying "There's no place like home." each time, can we go back to where I thought everyone was a genius?

"How about a game of Swifties?" he said gamely.

I played this game long before I knew other people played or even that it WAS a game. My dad had a complete collection of the Tom Swift series of books which I read in the late 40's (the years, not my age!) and the cadence of the dialog appealed to me.

"Did you come up with that anagram of 'wes bucey' yourself?" he asked sheepishly?

Actually I do play pretty mean game of Boggle and enjoy cross-words. It was just simpler (not to mention creating more combinations) to use the website. Perhaps this weekend I'll find some new phrase, get out the Scrabble tiles, and try a few "by hand".

"Well . . . I did have to coin the term, 'ewey,' in order to make it work," he replied creatively.

"Coining your own phrase sounds perfectly reasonable," he replied cents-ibly.

"Wes Bucey is an easy target for needling," he injected pointedly.

"While they spoke about coining words, we milled around the edges of the topic and didn't know which side to choose," he remarked flippantly.

"I never inhaled marijuana; Viagra is my recreational drug of choice," he maintained rigidly.
