Howste - I scoured the internet for some templates for training databases and it seems like they don't exist. Finally I stumbled upon this forum and it's just what I was looking for. I'm in the process of tailoring it to our training program, but I had a few questions to see if you might be able to help out. Right now I'm running Access 2010 (and I realize that some of these questions might be impacted from that), but here we go:
1. I can't attach pictures using the Ole function on the employee...in fact, when I click the photo box, it crashes the DB and exits me out of Access without giving me any information. Any idea why that would be? I've also tried attaching the photo directly into the table, but I can't open it, it shows no thumbnail (just a blank image placeholder), and it doesn't show in the reports.
2. I'm having major issues with generating the Training Matrices - when I try to generate any of them, the DB tries to open Excel (also 2010), but it gets locked up because Excel tries to protect the worksheet and the confirmation passwords do not match - completely unsure on this one.
3. When I generate a Full Size Phone List (via the employee form), I'd like to make some adjustments to the info listed on the generated report, but I can't seem to find the report template that is being generated (so I can tailor it to what fields I'd like)...any idea where that is or where I can adjust that?
4. This would be nice to have, and I've got some basic workarounds utilizing some tables imported into the form, but is there any way to import certificates into the employee form? I'm trying to have a tab that would list the training classes accomplished (sort of like the employee training list on the tab within the Submit Employee Records form) with an attachment of the actual cert that the employee received.
Anyway, really appreciate the database and the price (!) - it really is a good DB and I'm impressed with the functionality. My Access experience is alright, and I'm a quick learner on most things CS - I'm terrible with VBA, though.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
