EN 10204 3.1 Inspection Certificate - Machine Shop

#1
I have read various threads on this forum in regards to EN 10204 3.1 certificates. With the information that I have read, I just wanted to make sure I understand the process correctly.

If a customer specifies that an Inspection Certificate in accordance to EN 10204 3.1 is required for a machined component, example a manifold, this is how the process would work, correct?

Raw Material and a Material/ Mill Test Report EN 10204 3.1 would be procured by the Machine Shop. After receipt, the machine shop would perform the necessary machine shop operations per the customer's specifications/ drawings. The machine shop would then generate its' own Inspection Certificate in accordance to EN 10204 3.1. The machine shop would then copy and include the information provided on the original MTR onto that certificate and send it to the customer? I am not exactly sure what other "Test Results" could be included on the Machine Shop's Inspection Test Certificate.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

You would supply the machine shop's inspection results on the cert and the original mill test results.

If the product that is being supplied is a machined component, could the machine shop's inspection results just be a statement that the dimensions verified are in accordance to the applicable print? I am not sure what all would need to be included in the machine shop's inspection results that would be on the certificate.

Speak with your customer. It may be acceptable. Also, you may be able to reference the original cert from the material supplier and attach a copy along with your statement.
