I have some issue with the above standard in relation to an AGSS (Scavenging) product we are having tested.
Para 201.103.3.1.3 Flow resistance The pressure drop across a LOW-FLOW TRANSFER AND RECEIVING SYSTEM shall be
⎯ not less than 10 hPa (10 cmH2O) at 50 l/min,
⎯ not greater than 20 hPa (20 cmH2O) at 25 l/min.
I cannot see why we need to have what is in effect a built in back pressure on the exhaust port of the anesthetic system.
Any body able to clarify why this is there?
