Equipment Register and PM question

Hi All

I am creating our equipment register and have a question regarding PM. I am identifying the equipment with PM type, PM date, PM frequency, etc. If the equipment has no PM identified by the user manual I am listing it as no PM required. What are folks doing for identifying general cleaning for the equipment, would this be categorized as a PM?

Thank you,

I would look at risk: what risks to product, user, process uptime, etc. are there if equipment XYZ doesn't have any maintenance? If you do 'general cleaning' as maintenance does that reduce any identified risks adequately?

Thanks and that does make sense. I wasn't sure if I said no PM required, but general cleaning per manual would hold up during an audit
