Error Mistake Proofing Color Parts

Good Day To All,

Searched the Cove but came up empty handed:
Anyone have any experience error/mistake proofing automotive interior parts to insure that the correct parts are approved and shipped.

Sounds simple yet in this case it is a matter of distinguishing between different shades of black. We manufacture the same part but in different shades of black.

Any assistance would be great....

I've used different geometric shapes (as toe tags and shapes on a label, etc. to differentiate)

In the same vein, I've used different colored, stick on "Pricing Dots", to better differentiate when the label itself was close in description

Good ideas, but as always, make sure any color coding you use doesn't mean something different in your customer's facility.

Thanks for the insight, yes "Green" may have different meaning to different customers/manufacturing location.....

Master part (at least three different batch) for comparison.
Ensure that are stored well and life determined.
Defined lighting.
Defined viewing angle.
Defined time of inspection.
Training and validation of personnel inspecting about what is point defect, line defect, area defect.
