Right on....those SOB's that alarmed us about the ozone layer being damaged.....the catalytic converter hoax.....clean coal is all we need.......billions of tons of plastic in the oceans, who cares....118° F in the artic circle for the first time ever recorded. how can we know for sure it was calibrated?

Haters will hate; alarmists will alarm.
Billions of tons? No.

You can make fun of my post, but the facts are that MANY such dire predictions by so-called experts do not come true. Since you mention weather anomalies and ozone layer fears, the experts of the day (NASA and others) in the 1970's were predicting a coming ice age. In the 1980's several nations were supposed to be underwater by now. Weather forecasters have a difficult time predicting what it's gonna be like in a few days.

What are all these experts who supposedly believe in this 20-years to collapse really doing personally? Do their actions reflect their alleged beliefs? Show me.

I don't buy it.

Hi All- I'm reigniting this conversation since a couple of years have passed and now we have laws to comply with. CSRD in the EU and some laws in the states. Are ESG departments being created in your organizations? I can tell you that on my end, I've taken it on as part of regulatory affairs, and it's a royal nightmare to handle all of these questionnaires that are asking for puffery.

No, fortunately we are a private company and see less. The SEC has seemed to back track a bit on this as some state legislators are enacting some laws to battle it. GSA seems to be pushing forward.

Your customers are not asking? Even private companies are somehow impacted, since CSRD requires the double materiality assessment.

None to date. GSA wants us to report Scope I and II to them. I was told that in Indiana that if you have pension funds invested in coal that you do not have to report that it is invested in coal.

Hi All- Is anyone aware of a forum similar to this one that provides real world solution to ESG-type of reporting, initiatives, compliance etc..? I ask because I am the handy compliance department that's also a catch all for all nebulous questions. I don't know how I inherited ESG, but now I have to own it and make the best out of it. ESG, despite all the global regs and news, it is still a program with lots of hype with minimal investment. I'm in real need for help because I am losing my creativity!

Things are changing on the public side with ESG as of the last SEC meeting. Many states are enacting legislation against certain reporting requirements. Right, wrong or indifferent.. Sustainability is changing and folks are grasping and making unattainable goals and hoping for a miracle! Social, Environmental, Economic in simple terms People, Planet and Profit

CSR reporting is the art of spinning all kinds of data with creative narratives and many beautiful graphics.

We almost went bankrupt due to the pandemic We lowered our carbon emissions to an all time low since our foundation.
