Hello everybody,
We are developing a medical product (biopsy equipment).
Can you please help me out in the following requirement.
We have a standard ethernet port which have integrated magnetics and integrated LEDs.
In order to meet the safety requirements (60601-1) and EMC requirements, where should we connect the ground pins of the ethernet connector? To signal ground or protective earth? If they should be connected to protective earth, how to manage creepage and clearance distances? We have connected the signal ground to protective earth through Y1 capacitor.
The power supply (24V DC) for the board would be obtained from a isolated DC-DC converter which have SELV outputs.
The connector we have used is Molex 48025-0002.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
