We plan to go for ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for one of our testing laboratories, located in Belgium.
Is it possible to select an accreditation body from another country?
We would like to get quotes from BELAC (Belgium), RVA (Netherlands) and UKAS (UK), and then go with the best deal.
I get the idea from ILAC website (http ://www .ilac. org/ ilacarrangement.html - DEAD LINK - SORRY) that they have a 'cross border agreement' which means the local national accreditation body gets 'first refusal'.
Is this correct? If competition is not allowed, who ensures that the costs are fair and equivalent?
