Hey! I know the answer to the clothing question! WooHoo!

Men dressed themselves for the most part throughout history, but women had (at least in the higher levels of society) someone to dress them. So, the fasteners for womens clothing were opposite so that the person standing facing the fasteners could more easily work them.

now, that whole gas filler thing.....that has always irked the carp out of me. At one time I had a leftie, a rightie, and an old under the license plate filler.

Tell that to Paul (Simpson), and he will recommend that you switch to a Jaguar - because it has one on both sides.

It's was probably inadvertent--the Left Side design team wasn't communicating with the Right Side team. I'm surprised there aren't two steering wheels. :tg:
One on the right for Great Britain and Japan - one on the left for the rest of the world. As they say on the BBC, "Jaguar is a three-syllable word!" - the rest of us usually elide the third syllable.
