Evolution has taken away MIL-STD-1520 C - What to use now? MRB and PMR

Long story short, we have evolved away from what used to work well to a more commercial streamlined and cavalier approach to the disposition of nonconforming material.

I do realize that the Gov't cancelled 1520, however, it was required training for many years after it ceased to appear in contractual solicitations.

With the advent of ISO and AS Quality systems, we have degraded to handing the keys to anyone for the disposition of material both PMR and MRB without considering certifications or qualifications.

We have recently re-instituted certifications, but, not before getting some customer heat. Had the heat not happened, we would still be lost.

What does industry in general train the new blood PMR/MRB personnel to?

Cool forum!

I have benchmarked the industry for good examples of curriculum and found none. Even the Government lacks proper training means for their new personnel. I have collected and formatted a beautiful course that develops folks from common terms and vague knowledge, to an advanced understanding of the "Hows" "whens" and "whys" regarding this process.

Thanks for the white space to seek answers. This place is a treasure trove of ideas and thoughts collected from vast resources.

MCTiki, would appreciate a lot if you could share. I have been in the Quality industry for quite some time, from appliance to more recently automotive, i have learned a lot during my time, but browsing this page has been an eye opener, i know the methods but now i'm getting more in depth information of the why to those hows, so IMHO we are letting all the good practices and "old knowledge & know how" die.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your comments!
