External Standard Update Notification

An internal audit found our company to not have the most recent ASTM standard.
My question is how or what tools are there out there in the internet world that can email a contact here to notify them there was an update released? (not just for ASTM but for other Aerospace/Defense related external standards)
Trying to close this audit is proving to be difficult as there is along list of standards we use and trying to see if they are updated would take someone a long time.

Who do you buy your standards from? I know that IHS will send you a notice when any standard you've purchased from them is updated. It's in their best interest because then they can sell you more. Other subscription services and providers probably do the same.

There are quite a few discussions here about keeping up to date on revisions of standards.

Check some of the "Tags" in this thread such as "external document control".

Bottom line is:

Have a list of all external documents, which includes standards, customer prints, etc., and have a person or persons responsible for keeping current.

Or for standards alone there are services which will keep you advised of changes to standards (yes, they charge for their service).​

Is there a contractual requirement for the latest edition of standards to be used? Is there a self-inflicted requirement for that? Many times, in aerospace procurement, a very specific edition of the standard is referenced. And, for configuration management purposes, the supplier should not change it without the customer's consent.

The underlying requirement of standards is for the applicable version of the document to be available; not necessarily the latest.

To add to Sidney's post, there are times when a print (as an example) calls out a specific revision level of a standard. In such cases, unless the print is revised you need to have a copy of the standard of the revision level specified on the print, and comply to it, even if it has been revised unless it is specifically specified otherwise in a contract or other relevant document.

What were the requirements from the customer during contract review (latest spec or to Print)?
