FAI (First Article Inspection) Software Recommendations and Help

Hi, I'm looking for a software that can automate the FAI effort. So far I reviewed Visual FAIR from IPI Solutions and looking to see what other companied available for camparison.
We are AS9100 company and we use AS9102 forms and CMM reports. CMM reports are generated through PCDMIS software.
Please advise.

There are several companies out there. A couple that come to mind are Discus & Inspection Expert. They all have positives & negatives. We are looking into a software for this ourselves. Maybe those that have made the leap can chime in with their experiences.

I was looking into Discus already but I didn't know about Inspection Expert. I have requested info from both the companies.
For your information there is another company IP Solutions UK and their software is VisulFAIR.

Has anyone ever purchased any FAI software to ballon drawings and submit reports? Would you recommend the software for ease of use and price?

My inspectors have been using Discus since mid 2008. Excellent for balloning drawings and de-stressing the FAI process.

We are however finding 'Net-inspect' a painful experience right now, especially with submissions via the portal to Rolls Royce. Net inspect arent the best at responding or indeed being generally helpful.

We have just purchased 4 licences of Visual FAIR and are very happy with it. However we have yet to use it with really complex drawings with multiple sheets.

Definately improves the Ballooning process and with the BOM software speeds up the whole process. Once we have it fully working I am looking at the CMM import package to try to get the process as fully automated as possible.

Positives are that the license is floating and the software is modular making the purchase flexible. However the maintenance fees are quite high and if you need a new report output or modification to meet customer needs there is also a charge

I am new to the aerospace world and the company I am working for has a very manual (TONS of trees killed daily) system. I noticed this thread was 2 years old. Any updates to either opinions on what to use and/or new software that may have been developed/released recently?
