Specially thanks to Mr. Howard,
I have done the same things at Final Inspection and Layout Inspection.
The different is the inspection frequency only.
That is OK?
I have planned that the layout inspection will be deleted because I have done Final Inspection at every production process.
That is OK?
As you wrote before, the Final Inspection do before shipping, so what is the difference between Final Inspection and Pre Delivery Inspection?
Thanks before.
Not OK.
Lay out Inspection: Covers each and every detail given in the drawing.
Final Inspection: Covers all major specs. of the component and/or as per customer requirement. This
may not cover every detail given in the drawing. That is where it is different from 'Layout Inspection'.
PDI (Pre Despatch/Delivery Inspection): Covers all major specs. as is done in Final Inspection.
All the PDIs may be called Final Inspection, but every Final Inspection may not fall in the category of PDI. For example, a component after completion going to assembly line (within the facility), has to go through Final Inspection which is not termed as PDI.
It is more of convenience rather than a rule, as to the use of the terms Final Inspection or PDI
