I think it's important to note that the person quoted doesn't speak with any sort of authority, and is expressing a personal opinion. If a person is on a school board with an intellectually challenged majority, and they do boneheaded things, there needs to be a voice in the wilderness.
My comments were more on the 'dignity' piece. But as far as being a 'voice in the wilderness, more that one vote in my district have been 6-1, with me being the '1' - you add the facts to your opinions and background, and make a decision. However, I 100% respect the opinions of my fellow board members. I have had folks say "hey, how come you guys decided on 'XYZ' to which I have been known to say - check the voting record. I voted against. But now that the decision is made, I'm going to help it be as successful as possible. I respect the opinions of my fellow board members, as implied by the article.
And you'd be OK going to the parent/teacher conference after seeing her 'strip' the weekend before?
