Hi
I have submitted my resignation last month and I wanted to send a reminder email, but not sure how to write it. any way I came up with the following mail.
Please advise me if that is okay. please correct me if there are grammatical errors.

"Dear Sir,
I would like to remind you regarding my resignation, which was submitted on **** 2012.
My last day of work should have to be **** 2013 as my visa expires on **** 2013.
And I am kindly requesting you to do the needful.

I have attached a scanned copy of my letter for you reference.

Thanking you!"

regards,
mr X

Do you really feel that you need to send a followup. I personally would not worry about that and just make sure all my eggs were in a row. Then the morning of my last day, go to HR and turn in everything I needed with a sheet for them to sign to show I turned it in. Give them my forwarding address (if needed). Just my :2cents:

I think the key to OP's request was for affirmation/confirmation from the employer that he [it?] do that which is "needful." Needful (necessary in American English) things might include

  • preparing final paycheck,
  • income tax forms,
  • arrangements to accept/confirm return of company equipment,
  • return/cancellation of passwords,
  • letters of recommendation/reference,
  • acquiring and training replacement, etc.
Personally, I would talk directly to my direct supervisor (in person or by phone) and ask "What else do you need from me?" and "When can I expect acknowledgement of my leaving and completion of the "needful" things?"

Acknowledgement and checklist/timetable of needful things is the least one should expect from the employer.

I would still suggest going to HR. I had a last check held due to supervisor not thinking it was important to tell HR that I had turned in the company phone, laptop and case with extra drive. It took over a month and a letter from a friend (lawyer) to finally get it. If you feel the need to remind your supervisor. Then talk to her/him.
