Dear Friends,

What do you recommend for improving Food Services Hygiene ISO 22000 Certificate or HACCP Certificate if a site has ISO 9001 certificate ?

Hi Dawelah,

IMHO, it won't really matter which of the two Standards an organization will adopt so long as there is strong commitment from everyone.
To give you though idea:

ISO 22000 has HACCP as its backbone and it's gonna be quite difficult for an organization to "follow" (read: interpret and thus adopt the requirements) ISO 22000 without the assistance of an expert (been my experience); whereas HACCP is quite simple to understand and not so difficult to interpret and thus quite easy to establish/implement.

It's not difficult integrating HACCP requirements into the existing QMS (based on ISO 9001).

We've managed to go through the establishment of food safety system step by step; that is we went through first with HACCP then later on as the system (and so as the people) has matured, we've decided to adopt ISO 22000 requirements. Made our work lives less stressful that way.

But if you have a very competent team and much much resources to adopt ISO 22000 requirements, go ahead.
