OK! So which one do you use, if any? What are the good/bad points of the product? Would you rather have one of the software packages that cost a lot of money? Can you compare one of these free ones favorably or unfavorably to an expensive one?
There are some free software suites and packages that have almost equal footing and usability with the costly version - compare Open Office (
http://www.openoffice.org/) with Microsoft Office suite, for example. For 90 to 95% of casual users, Open Office is more than ample for their needs. Only a few power users need the features contained in MS Office, while most would never have a need to use such features.
