Hello guys

I am dealing with environmental testing according to the mil std 810
Instead of doing an actual test for Fungus I will prepare an analysis or deceleration
that all the materials in my product can deal with fungus.
Does someone know where can i get this information? should I ask the information from the manufacturer like I ask for COC, or maybe i can do it per materiel and not per part?

Thank You! for your help, I hope I was clear somehow.

Fungus testing in my day (the 1980's) was required to be done on the actual assembled device (DUT).

The only way you could do what I think you are describing is if your suppliers each did fungus testing on each material they supply (which is not likely). To my knowledge there is no database you can go to get information on individual materials (of course I could very well be wrong, considering how long ago I was involved with testing), and if there is it probably would not meet the requirement (assuming you have a customer or other requirement) for fungus testing.

Thank you for you answer Marc.
Apperntly if I am not mistaken, it is possible if you go along with the MIL-STD 454.
but even then it is pretty hard to gather all the materilas that the unit consists of.
again thank you for taking the time and answer!

I will refrase my question since I learned a few things in the past few days:

Hello Everybody
I need to perform fungus analysis according to the MIL-STD-810. By analysis I mean not to perform an actual fungus testing for the parts which from them my unit consist of, but instead, provide a list of materials contained in the UNIT, and check if there are fungus nutrients materials in it.
I am having some difficulties since 1 or 2 parts in the UNIT contains some fungus nutrient materials.
If I coat these parts with PR1750 or another appropriate sealant, will this be a suffice solution, so the part can be considered fungus resistant?
In addition, can you advise me where I can find more fungus resistant materials beside the list that can be found in the MIL-STD-454 Guideline 4, and the MIL-T-152? Because I have materials in my Unit and it's parts which I cannot fully identify regarding being fungus nutrient or not.
Any help or information will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!!!
Best
Alon

That is why a unit is usually tested fully assembled. Just because the fungus susceptible materials are inside an assembly doesn't mean much unless the unit is hermetically sealed. Depending upon what your product is, this may or may not be the case.

Devices I used to test years ago were items such as military "man-pack" radio transceivers used in the field by US soldiers. They were reasonably well sealed, however they were not hermetically sealed. Many times we did test completed sub-assemblies such as circuit boards which were completely assembled. These assemblies had a "conformal coating" on them which effectively sealed the PCB.

What is the product you are working on?

some kind of a cooling system unit,
most of the parts are fungus resistant so I guess or at least hope Coating the few Problematic parts will be a good solution..
